Why we’re looking forward to 2021
2020 has been a year to forget for most as Covid has dominated everyday life and has seen hardship thrust upon many in the UK and the rest of the world. We start 2021 in much the same way as we spent a great deal of our time in 2020, locked down, isolated and dreaming of whatever normal used to feel like. However, January 2021 feels more positive than March 2020 and we are looking forward to a year in which we hope to get back to doing the things that keep us getting up in the morning.
Here are a few things we’re looking forward to.
Vaccine success – The mass roll out of the approved vaccines will mean we can start to look forward to normality returning. The success in getting these life-saving vaccines is an incredible testament to the power of innovation, science and collaboration.
Flexible/Hybrid working – Increased flexibility on working will increase talent pools and give candidates access to a range of roles they couldn’t previously have considered. If managed correctly, this can only be a good thing.
Economy – The news of vaccines and a possible end to the tight restrictions should see economic growth in 2021 and provide some positive news that helps to reduce unemployment. The worldbank is predicting 4% of economic expansion and we would all appreciate good news here.
KickStart – The government kickstart scheme should start to put young people into employment placements in 2021 providing exciting and potentially life-changing opportunities for individuals who find themselves unemployed. We are excited to offer this opportunity at Your Talent Solutions.
Seeing friends and family – It’s hard to remember what socialising was exactly like (maybe that’s just being the parent of a toddler) but an eventual reopening of pubs, restaurants, gig venues, theatres and more will enable us to see the people who have been sorely missed in our lives.
Travel – After 3 holidays were cancelled this year the possibility to travel and explore again is a really exciting prospect for 2021. 2020 has helped shine a positive light on domestic tourism and exploring the UK as well as traveling overseas is definitely on the agenda.
Hugs – Needs no explaining!
